Japanese fashion designer Rei Kawakubo’s declaration that ‘the future of fashion is ‘flat’, resonates in these works. Drawn from simple yet oversized silhouettes in felt, with stuffing bulging out of the black metal outline they hint at a ‘volume’ that is neither voluminous, nor flat.
